Rolex and Crisson History
Crisson’s history spans over a century and we have been the only Official Rolex Jeweler in Bermuda for over 50 years. We are proud to be a Bermudian household name, famous for our collections of unique, high-quality products that capture the eye.
The founding of a family business
Crisson Jewelers had its beginnings in the years before the First World War, when Herbert Crisson was training as an apprentice jeweler in Bermuda. Herbert was called to duty during the war to serve as a RAF pilot, while his brother Jack served as a dispatch rider on the Western front. When the war came to an end, both brothers returned to Bermuda, acquiring a box of jewelry in New York en route. This jewelry became the first pieces of the Crisson collection and Crisson Jewellers was officially founded in 1922.
Second generation growth
While business grew modestly at first, the boom of modern tourism in Bermuda in the 1950s saw the Crisson family business grow, along with the local community, to become the local institution that it is today. It was around this time that John, Herbert’s son, stepped in along with his wife Anja Crisson, and they gradually repositioned the family business as specialists in the unique, unusual, and rare.

As time passed, Crisson evolved into a true world class jeweler thanks to John and Anja’s incredible vision and drive, and, in 1970, the company was honored to become an Official Rolex Jeweler. In his later years, John fondly remarked that this relationship was the making of Crisson’s modern day business, which is now run by the third and fourth generations: Herbert’s grandson Peter Crisson and Peter’s niece Helen.
